When "Pull Yourself Together" Doesn't Work
Grief, divorce, loneliness, hospitalization, job loss, or other life difficulties? You don't have to go through your struggles alone. When life is falling apart, help is available. Our Stephen Ministers are trained caregivers who will walk with you, listen to you, and provide confidential one-to-one care as you search through the pieces and find what is truly in your heart.

Know Someone Who is Hurting? You Can Play an Important Role
If you know of a friend, neighbor, co-worker, or relative who is going through a difficult time, talk with one of our Stephen Leaders. They can help you connect the person you know with a Stephen Minister who can provide focused care, encouragement, and support.

Want to Make a Real Difference in the Lives of Others - In Your Own Life?
Consider becoming a Stephen Minister. SouthPoint Stephen Leaders will equip you with skills to provide quality care giving to diverse people experiencing a wide range of issues. Training topics include:

Listening  ~  Feelings  ~  Confidentiality  ~
Maintaining Boundaries  ~ Providing Christian Care
Crisis Theory and Practice  ~

Once equipped, you will be prayerfully matched with people who are going through a stressful time or life difficulty. You will meet with this person once a week for about an hour to listen, care, encourage, and pray. A Stephen Minister brings Christ's presence into the person's life, and also experiences Christ in the other person. It's a life-changing ministry for both the care receiver and the Stephen Minister.
